Cape May

Cape May is the perfect combination of a Victorian winter wonderland and an adorable sea shore town.

Nothing quite compares or measures up to the charm it radiates, especially at Christmas time. 

With a spectacular tree lighting ceremony and the famous West Cape May Christmas parade, Cape May certainly knows how to kick off the holiday season.

Make sure you head down to Washington Street Mall which is decked out with an abundance of tastefully decorated lights, rustic greenery and beautiful adornments which will bring you immense joy. 

Check out the wide variety of shops where you will be certain to find gifts even for the most finicky of recipients. 

Look into taking a trolley rides.  They can take you on a tour of holiday lights or a Victorian Holiday ghost tale. Some rides even have a visit with Santa.

Clinton

Historic Clinton is like a page out of a Charles Dickens novel. This adorable town with its beautiful red mill is just what you need to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Red Bank

If you are looking for a picturesque and old fashioned town to experience some holiday spirit, Red Bank is the spot for you!

Want to take a photo with Santa? He is in town every weekend for some great photo taking opportunities. 

While there, you will be serenaded with songs of the season performed by carolers, handbells, rock, folk, jazz musicians, and choirs and brass bands.

Red Bank lights up beautifully at night as they spare no detail with holiday decorations. Be sure to stroll through the town as they have some amazing eateries and some pretty cool shopping too.

Princeton

Princeton is a charming and inquisitive town in itself. Add Christmas to the mix, and wow, you have one of the best Christmas towns in NJ. In fact, it’s one of my favorite go to spots for holidays!

Palmer Square – Nothing screams the holidays like outdoor ice skating! It is so nice to skate and be surrounded by Christmas decorations.

On Saturday and Sundays, they even have holiday music and a strolling santa.

Terhune Orchards – A wonderfully run family business that has a fabulous winery, a farm store and great pies. Be sure to check out their website for up to date information.

Princeton University

Be sure to stroll through the university while you are there and check out the architecture and the beauty of the magnificent campus.

Smithville

 A definite must see!  Smithville easily makes the list of 5 of the best Christmas Towns in New Jersey. With light shows, a Dickens fest and a holiday train ride, you would think that in itself would be a nice day, but no, there is much more! Smithville continues to impress with their Christmas festivities.  

They have decorations second to none, a magic talking Christmas tree, and you can even have breakfast with Santa.
