How To Spend 24 Hours In Park City, Utah

If you have 24 hours and you’re wondering how to spend it in Park City, Utah, read on. Park City is a charming ski town that is a fabulous place to visit anytime of the year. Located thirty minutes from Salt Lake City, Park City is easy to get to whether you want to visit for an overnight or stay for as long as a week.

We came up in May and were captivated by the city’s beauty and all it had to offer. We were in town for about 24 hours and wanted to see as much of this adorable city as we could.

Lodging

First thing to take care of was our hotel. We looked up hotels online prior to our arrival and found that the DoubleTree Hotel was smack in the middle of town. We had tried to make a reservation on the phone prior to our arrival, but we kept getting disconnected. (Cell phone service can be very spotty in the mountains).

Lucky for us, we were able to get a much better rate at the front desk!  It just goes to show that it never hurts to ask for a better rate.

This hotel was simply amazing. All the employees were super friendly and went out of their way to welcome and assist us anyway they could. They reached out to make sure our room was to our liking and even walked outside to show us exactly where to catch public transportation. The best thing was though, the beds were unbelievably comfortable and the rooms were spotless.

Each guest is served a warm, delicious cookie upon arrival that most definitely started our stay off on the right foot.

Transportation

Getting around Park City is a breeze with their free bus transportation. The bus was spotless and the driver was helpful and courteous. Buses typically run every half hour. View Park City Transit for routes and schedules.

Main Street

Make a point of going to Main Street to walk around and see and taste your way through the area. There is an old historic area that is not to be missed. The street is lined with an assortment of unique shops, jewelry stores, art galleries, souvenir stores, restaurants and bars.

I had heard a lot of great things about the High West Distillery and wanted to give it a try. We sampled some of their whiskey and had a few absolutely amazing whiskey cocktails. They were very unique and quite good.Their food was out of this world too. We decided to share their brussels sprouts with pomegranate and found it to be spectacular.

After some food and drinks from HighWest, we headed Main Street to the No Name Saloon. It was a loud, noisy and fun place that I highly recommend. We sampled some local beers and chatted with some local folks.

Breakfast

After a fun night out and a comfy sleep at the DoubleTree, we popped on over to Five5eeds and grabbed ourselves a delicious breakfast. Their coffee was spectacular and the dishes were so creative and were presented beautifully. We were not disappointed.

After breakfast, we hopped in the car and drove through some adorable streets before heading out to catch our flight.

If I had more than 24 hours to spend in Park City,  I would of loved to check out the following:

Deer Valley Resort

Deer Valley is an upscale resort that hosted several events at the 2002 Winter Olympics Winter Olympics. It is home to six mountains for skiers only and offers plenty to do in the off season or when you’re off the slopes.

Olympic Park

Olympic Park is the winter sports park that was made for the 2002 Winter Olympics and athletes still use this park to train. They have ziplines, a museum, bobsled tracks and mountain coasters.

Park City is truly a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. There are a surplus of hiking trails, biking trails, hot springs, reservoirs, golfing, not to mention winter sports.

There really is something here for everyone no matter what time of year you visit.

Final Thoughts

Park City is a small community with some of the best skiing in the world. It offers great skiing and so much more! It’s close proximity to Salt Lake City’s airport coupled with the fact that it is one of the cutest areas you’ve ever laid eyes on, makes it a must visit destination in my book.
